USTR meeting on 18th September

On 18th September 2104, Amcham held an open forum with the Deputy USTR. Over the last couple months USTR has visited India to discuss trade barriers and lay the groundwork for the Trade Policy Forum which is scheduled later this year in New Delhi.

The visiting delegation included:

• Intellectual property rights
• Lack of consultation
• Commercial interchangeability
• Import checklist
• Labelling challenges
• Taxation
• Import of electronic equipment
• Digital data policy
Some of the companies represented at the meeting included Accenture, Applied Materials, BAE Systems, Baxter, Citi, Estee Lauder, and UL.
