tion for members of the AMCHAM National Executive Board (NEB) who were in Kolkata for the board meeting, members of AMCHAM’s Eastern Region and representatives of American companies, not yet members of AMCHAM. This gave AMCHAM members the opportunity to interact and highlight the advantages of being a member. It also gave the NEB members the opportunity to interact with AMCHAM ER members in an informal gathering.

Mr. George Sibley, Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs and Environment, Science and Technology and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, and Consul General Craig Hall, in their address to the guests, spoke about the history of the Consulate in Kolkata, its support to the American business community and the advantages of being part of AMCHAM’s Eastern Region, as well as the importance of working together as a team to enhance U.S. business interests in India. They briefly touched upon the meeting with Dr. Mitra, Hon’ble Minister for Department of Finance, Industries, Commerce & Enterprises, Government of West Bengal.

This was followed by remarks by Mr. Pratyush Kumar, Chairman, AMCHAM, Mr. K.P. Sengupta, Chairman – Eastern Region, AMCHAM, and Mr. Gulshan Sachdev, Vice Chairman, AMCHAM. The vote of thanks was given by Mr. Debdas Sen, Vice Chairman – Eastern Region, AMCHAM. The social ambience for this session was very helpful as this enabled members and non-members to interact and highlight their presence in the state.
