Karnataka Chapter 2019 Recap and 2020 Way Forward

 

Highlights of 2019

a. Member Surveys: AMCHAM’s Karnataka Chapter conducted the annual member survey to understand they key challenges members face in doing business in Karnataka. The more common areas of challenge were identified and you will be contacted for more information before we connect you with the concerned state government offices.

 

b. New Members: We introduced and welcomed over 20 new members in 2019-20 who have been very active in the chapter activities. The new members include: Ametek Instruments, Autogrid India, CBRE South Asia, Enphase Solar Energy, Flipkart Internet, Garrett Motion Engineering Solutions, Hanson Bridgett LLP, Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), Inteva Products LLC, JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru, Micron Technology Operations, Morgan Stanley Advantage Services, OTIS Global Services, Parexel International, Ralph Lauren Sourcing, Shanti Bhavan Children’s Project, Swagelok, VF Sourcing, Wissen Infotech, United Healthcare!

 

c. Events & Networking: AMCHAM hosted a wide variety of events in 2019 with at least one event or member engagement activity every month covering a wide variety of topics that American companies doing business in India have benefited from, in addition to the annual social events like the Karnataka Chapter Annual Dinner and AMCHAM Invitational Golf Tournament.

 

  • In 2019, AMCHAM Karnataka launched monthly CEO breakfast mornings which have  focussed on enabling member companies to present innovation and best practices within their company to other members
  • In 2019, AMCHAM launched the Signature Lecture Series pan India focussing on bringing in specialist speakers on topics of benefit to American companies
  • Interactions were hosted with Consul General Robert Burgess, Counsellor for Commercial Affairs Mr. Manoj Desai, Chief of the Consular Section Mr. Kent May and Consular Information Officer Mr. Waller Leif from the U.S. Consulate in Chennai
  • AMCHAM’s Karnataka Chapter partnered with various member companies on visits of key delegations and senior leadership

 

d. Working Group: AMCHAM launched the U.S.-India Travel & Tourism Working Group to collaborate with American companies that send vast numbers of corporate travel to the U.S. and explore engagement with Corporate Travel Managers so they can better understand the plethora of products available for better decision making and corporate travel planning.

 

e. NextGen Global Leadership Program: AMCHAM launched the NextGen Global Leadership Program and the Karnataka Chapter had a full subscription of 20 participants who have covered sessions with senior leadership of AMCHAM member companies across a 10 month program.

 

Our association in 2020-21

a. NextGen Global Leadership Program 2020-21: AMCHAM will reach out to you for nominations for year 2 of the NextGen program. Please do nominate your upcoming leadership who will benefit from the content and interactions of 10 sessions over the year.

 

b. Events: If you are hosting a thought leadership event or a visiting senior delegation of company leadership and would like to associate with AMCHAM to invite AMCHAM member companies to attend and share insights, do let us know and we will be happy to plan this with you.

 

c. Sponsorship: AMCHAM Karnataka seeks your support in extending sponsorship to our various activities we do in the calendar year. In turn, we will offer you brand visibility, networking, engagement with American companies that bring about the return on your investment.

 

d. New Membership: If you are aware of American companies doing business in India that would benefit from becoming an AMCHAM member, please do reach out to the AMCHAM Regional Director on amchambangalore@amchamindia.com and we will be happy to connect with the company and introduce the benefits of being associated with AMCHAM.

 

e. Participation: AMCHAM will continue to host a number of events (CEO breakfasts, Signature Lecture Events and more) for the benefit of member learning and networking in 2020. Please do try and make yourself available to attend and participate. If you are not available to join, please extend the invite to relevant senior members of your organization who would benefit from being present.
