Interactive Learning and Sharing Session On ‘India Inc. – Preparedness For Industry 4.0’ – an initiative of the Supply Chain & Logistics Committee
On 23rd April 2019, AMCHAM’s Supply Chain and Logistics Committee organized an interactive learning and sharing session on ‘India Inc – Preparedness For Industry 4.0.’ The session began with opening remarks by Ms. Surabhi Wahal, Regional Director – Western Region, AMCHAM. Through her remarks she warmly welcomed all participants and shared a brief overview of the committee. She then introduced the session speaker, Mr. Kumar Kandaswami, Chairperson – Supply Chain and Logistics Committee, AMCHAM and Partner, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP. Mr. Kandaswami shared his expert insight on the preparedness of India Inc. for industry 4.0. Through his talk he delved into the drivers that substantially influence industry 4.0, how these megatrends are impacting organizations, the leadership personas that emerge as a consequence and the response of Indian executives to industry 4.0 vs that of their global peers.
An engaging Q&A session followed. The event concluded with closing remarks and vote of thanks by Ms. Ursula Thakkar, Chairperson – Western Region, AMCHAM and Managing Director, Lubrizol Advanced Materials India Pvt. Ltd., who thanked Mr. Kumar Kandaswami for the interesting and insightful session. She also thanked the participants for joining and AMCHAM for the wonderful platform of learning. While encapsulating the key points, she highlighted a phrase used by Mr. Kandaswami that was important in understanding the dynamism of industry 4.0 – “The future is not an extension of the past.”
