Industry Visit to Dow India Technology Centre – An Initiative of the Supply Chain & Logistics Committee
On 23rd August 2018 AMCHAM’s Supply Chain and Logistics Committee organized an industry visit to Dow India Technology Centre in Navi Mumbai as part of it’s Sharing and Learning Initiative. The day began with opening remarks by Ms. Surabhi Wahal, Regional Director – Western Region, AMCHAM, followed by welcome remarks by Mr. Milind Tailor, Co-Chairperson – Supply Chain & Logistics Committee, AMCHAM, and Head of Indirect Procurement & Electronic Security Asia Pacific, Diebold Nixdorf Private Limited. Mr. Alok Gautam, Country Logistics Leader – Supply Chain Operations, Dow Chemical International Pvt. Ltd., through a brief address, set the stage for the presentation, showcase and tour of Dow India’s state-of-the-art technology centre.
Before embarking on a tour of the centre, Mr. Padmadas Nair, R&D TSND Leader, Dow Chemical International Pvt. Ltd. shared a presentation that highlighted the various capabilities of the facility that encompassed the various businesses of Dow – industrial solutions, consumer solutions, coating materials, packaging and speciality plastics, polyurethanes and core R&D groups like materials engineering centre, engineering and process science and analytical science. Mr. Nair shed detailed insight into the queries that participants had during the interactive Q&A session.
With protective gear on, the participants were then ushered on a visit to the various laboratories within the facility. With highly skilled R&D professionals at the centre, the Dow India Technology Centre was indeed a world class facility providing cross industry solutions and offers. The event was well attended.
