Theme: Improving Healthcare Access to Reduce Disease Burden in India

About Us

Healthcare has become one of India's largest sectors - both in terms of revenue and employment. Although, the country's healthcare industry is projected to continue its rapid expansion, increased population growth in India's low-income communities has resulted in a lack of affordable and easily accessible quality healthcare for millions of people.

Despite the Government's efforts to improve widespread access to quality healthcare, India's existing infrastructure continues to be inadequate, resulting in limited treatment options, especially for low-income families.

WHO defines "Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." The concept of health as defined above gives rise to the word 'healthcare', which focuses on nutrition, hygiene, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness.

In a successful health care model all the components mentioned below are of equal importance:

  • Physicians and hospitals
  • Industry: Pharmaceutical and medical technology companies
  • Regulators and various ministries of Government
  • Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs)
  • Insurance companies/reimbursement/reimbursement authorities/Clinical
  • Research Organizations / Self Helps Groups (SHGs)
  • Society (public at large)

As an industry association, we want to be a thought leader and influence in changing the way the world views the treatment of expensive diseases. In order to accomplish this, we must continuously challenge ourselves and challenge the status quo. AmCham India presents to you an Annual Conference on Healthcare to promote the cause of "Healthcare for all". We provide a platform to all the stakeholders to discuss and deliberate the issues, barriers and challenges on the road to achieve equity in healthcare.

  • Promote the cause of "Healthcare for all"
  • Provide a platform to all stakeholders to discuss and deliberate the issues and challenges on the road to achieve "healthcare for all"
  • To hear and be heard - understanding stakeholders expectations
  • Take the first step to become a change agent by challenging the status quo and inspire stakeholders to think of radical changes
