Nations worldwide go through cycles of shortage of blood, which puts hospitals and families in situation of great stress. I understand that West Bengal has been a consistent front-runner in voluntary blood donation in India. I am also pleased that two American sponsors, the Hyatt and Pepsico, are actively sponsoring the event and donating to help promote this cause. I wish AMCHAM success with the event.”

While individual US companies based in Kolkata have their own CSR programs, it is the first time that they came together to pool their CSR efforts for greater scale and impact.
