Amcham & Rotary Bangalore organised blood donation camps and promoted Rotary Bangalore’s Stem Cell Registry India (SCRI) initiative. April – June 2014 – Bangalore
Since there is an urgent need of blood during the summer months, AMCHAM and Rotary Bangalore are conducting blood donation camps between April and June 2014 at the premises of Amcham member companies.
There is also a critical need for matching donors for life-saving, blood stem cell transplants for the growing numbers of terminally ill patients of blood disorders like Leukemia, Lymphoma, Sickle Cell Anemia.
The, “Life de India”, Stem Cell Registry India (SCRI) initiative of Rotary Bangalore TTK Blood Bank, conducted SCRI education and registrations, prior to the Blood Donation Camp. Companies wholeheartedly supported the donor education at their office sites.
2151 units of blood has been collected till now from April – May, from the blood donations by the Amcham companies including GE India, Exxon Mobil, Northern Trust, Saggezza, Synopsys, Kodiak Networks, Praxiar, Thomson Reuters, Oracle and Terex.
More camps are planned in the office of other Amcham member companies in the coming month.
