AMCHAM – IDSA Brainstorming Interaction on the U.S.-India Defense Partnership
AMCHAM and IDSA (Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses) conducted a brainstorming interaction on the U.S.-India defense partnership with defense experts and U.S. industry members on February 25th in New Delhi. The discussions were under Chatham House rules. Defense is the key driver of the U.S.-India bilateral partnership. India and the U.S. have made considerable progress to push forth the bilateral defense cooperation and continues to have a favorable future outlook. As a major supplier of defense and aerospace products to India, the U.S. is keen to look for a way forward in meeting India’s needs and aspirations of achieving self-reliance. AMCHAM members participated and senior officials from the services were present during the much engaging and open discussion. Mr. Gaurav Mehndiratta, Co-Chairman – Defense Committee, AMCHAM and Partner and Head – North India, Corporate and International Tax, KPMG, gave a brief presentation on the U.S. defense scenario. Ambassador Sujan R. Chinoy, Director General, IDSA, co-chaired the proceedings with Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM.
