Delegation to Sri Lanka - October 11-14, 2010
The
Governments of the US and Sri Lanka are organizing
a Private-Public Partnership Conference in Colombo
on 13th of October 2010, on the side lines of
the 8th round of talks to be held under the US-Sri
Lanka Trade and Investment Framework Agreement
(TIFA). The US Government is encouraging the US
companies to attend the PPP Conference with a
view to encourage US investments into Sri Lanka.
Amcham
will be taking a delegation to Sri Lanka from
11th-14th October 2010 to coincide with the PPP
Conference and promote the business of India-based
US companies in Sri Lanka.
The
delegates will also have an opportunity to visit
Jaffna, the capital of Northern Sri Lanka to get
first-hand information on its business potential
and emerging investment opportunities.
Amcham
delegation is fully supported by the US Government
and High Commission of Sri Lanka in India. A Networking
Reception by the US Ambassador in Sri Lanka is
also envisaged.
As
a delegate, you will get an opportunity to meet
members of Amcham Sri Lanka, the Ceylon Chamber
of Commerce, and Sri Lankan Ministers. We will
also try for a meeting with the President of Sri
Lanka.
Amcham
will assist in hotel bookings and the hotel bill
will be settled individually by the delegates.

Visit to Jaffna - The Sri Lanka Government is
compiling a list of investment projects that are
open to private sector participation. Those members
of Amcham who have specific interest in Jaffna
could join this visit.
13th
October 2010
Private-Public Partnership (PPP) Conference –
The Conference will be an ideal opportunity to
have first hand information on the existing and
emerging investment opportunities in Sri Lanka
and the range of incentives offered to foreign
investors by the Government. As senior policy-makers,
officials / resource persons from both the U.S.
and Sri Lankan Governments and private sectors
of Sri Lanka are going to be present in the Conference,
the participants will be able to clarify any grey
areas they may have concerning their future investment
plans in Sri Lanka. The Conference will also be
a great occasion for networking among the participating
business leaders and Government officials.
As
the number of seats are limited, kindly confirm

the enclosed proforma duly filled in along with
a cheque for Rs.17,648 (delegation fee Rs.16,000
plus Rs.1,648 as service tax @ 10.30 per cent)
