The American Chamber of Commerce in India (AMCHAM) and USIBC had organized “Union Budget 2009-Interactive Session” on July 10, 2009 at New Delhi.

Mr. T. P. Chopra, Chairman Amcham & President & CEO, GE India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, welcomed the participants and made his opening observations and address by Mr. Brooks Entwistle, Managing Director & CEO, Goldman Sachs & USIBC Board Member

Presentation on the “Budget proposals with specific reference to amendments for foreign companies” was made by Mr. Atul Dhawan, Chairman, Amcham’s Tax & Tariff Committee & Partner, Deloitte Haskins & Sells and address by Mr. P.V. Bhide, Revenue Secretary, GOI. This was followed by a Panel Discussion.

The Panelists were Mr. Uday Ved, Executive Director, KPMG. Mr. Sanjiv Chaudhary, Executive Director, PricewaterhouseCoopers Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Satya Poddar, Partner, Ernst & Young Pvt. Ltd; and Ms. Neeru Ahuja, Partner, Deloitte, Haskins & Sells.
