9th 2008 : Bangalore AMCHAM Annual Fellowship
The
Annual Fellowship was well attended by members
with their spouses. Mr. John Panikar welcomed
all guests present and spoke about the agenda
for the evening – That he would hand over
to the incoming Chairman, Mr. C S Murali, who
would then take the evening forward, besides a
brief presentation by Mr. Anil Davuluri, a volunteer
with the Rotary-TTK Blood Bank. Awards were then
to be given to Donor member-companies, to be followed
by entertainment for the evening - a Stand-Up
comedy by India’s only ‘female’
artist Ms. Rubi Chakravarthi.
Mr.
Panikar then invited Mr. Murali for a formal hand-over.
On behalf of AmCham Bangalore, Mr. Panikar was
congratulated for his contributions to AmCham
by Mr. Murali. Mr. Murali then briefed members
about the updates on services such as the Fast-Track
program and the BEP Visa processing assistance.
He elaborated on the forthcoming plans for the
year and mentioned that the AmCham Blood Donation
Drive, in partnership with Rotary TTK Blood Bank
was proving to be a successful initiative, as
seen by the enthusiastic participation of member-companies
and especially the increasing volume of blood
collected through this drive. He then invited
Mr. Anil Davuluri to make his presentation. Anil
presented graphs of the incremental participation
of companies’ employees and also the incremental
volume of blood collected from the AmCham drive.
He implored non-participating members to join
in the blood donation drive. After this brief
presentation, Mr. Murali invited Mr. Panikar to
present to award to GE – JFWTC, for the
highest number of donors. Mr. Shesh Kulkarni was
invited on stage to present the award to GE –
Healthcare (MS) for the highest percentage of
participants. Mr. Ashok Sharma, neighbour of GE
– Healthcare collected the award on behalf.
Ms. Akila Krishnakumar was invited to present
the award to Mr. Gautam Khanna 3M – Healthcare
for the second highest percentage of employee
participation. Mr. Indraneel Roy Choudhury was
invited to present the award to Mr. Anil Davuluri,
for his contributions towards the AmCham 2008
Blood Donation Drive and lastly, Mr. Murali himself
handed the award to Ms. Lakshmi Ravichandran,
for spearheading this blood donation drive with
AmCham, and making this a very successful initiative
that AmCham was proud to proclaim.
The
evening ended on a high note with all members
enjoying Ms. Rubi Chakravarti’s performance
who delivered as promised – a half hour
of keeping guests laughing!!
