AMCHAM in co-operation with Ernst & Young organized a workshop on the new Provident Fund notification issued by the Govt. of India. The event took place on Thursday 20th of November '08 at New Delhi.The Central Provident Fund Commissioner Mr. Vishwanathan was the keynote speaker. He was joined by several important functionaries from the Provident Fund Commissioner's office as well as the Ministry of Labor Govt. of India.
Mr. Amitabh Singh Partner Ernst & Young introduced the topic and brought out various anomalies in the legislation. The three hour debate was attended by 150 representatives of MNC's from all over the country. Discussions took place on the background of this amendment, the impact this will have on companies specially in terms of additional regulatory requirements.
