Meeting with Scott Sindelar, Minister Counselor, U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S. Embassy – 3rd November 2016

On 3rd November, Madhvi Kataria, Deputy Executive Director, AmCham, and Udaya Arun, Program Manager – Aerospace & Defense, AmCham, called upon Scott Sindelar, Minister Counselor, U.S. Department of Agriculture, to understand the USDA’s agenda for the sector and how AmCham could align its committee objectives towards that end. During the course of discussions, he emphasized the need for AmCham to present a white paper on the current/pertinent issues in the sector. The Indian agri‚ food and beverages sector is undergoing a transformation. It is rapidly moving from basic foods to processed and value-added foods. New companies in technology and technology-enabled supply chain and logistics, processing, distribution, processing etc. are creating innovative business models and new categories. Companies of American origin have been a frontrunner in this sector and it was deemed essential to collate a white paper to record their growth and achievements.
