AMCHAM’s Manufacturing Committee held a meeting on April 10th over Webex under the leadership of Mr. Mukul Varshney, Co-Chairman – Manufacturing Committee, AMCHAM and R1-Director – Corporate Affairs, Media and Communications India, Africa, SE Asia, Middle East, Asia Pacific, Region 1 – John Deere. In his opening remarks he spoke on how the landscape for manufacturing is rapidly changing with digital platforms and encouraged all that this was the time to share best practices and challenges. Ms. Ranjana Khanna, Director General CEO, AMCHAM shared about a report that will be released at AMCHAM’s upcoming AGM that would be highlighting some key sectors and themes which will drive the next level of economic growth in India. While discussing an AMCHAM questionnaire related to the report, members shared inputs and concerns related to building more resilient supply chains, incentive schemes, sustainability and zero wastage for factories, capacity utilization in SEZs, export promotions and innovation, among other topics.
