AMCHAM’s HR Committee organized its first meeting for the year 2023-24 on June 12th over Webex. Ms. Komple Sharma, Director, AMCHAM welcomed members and gave a brief presentation on the work done in the previous year along with a probable work plan for the upcoming year. Dr. Kiranmai Pendyala, Chairperson – HR Committee, AMCHAM and Human Resources Corporate Vice President, India Technology Center, UPS and Mr. Samrat Sarkar, Co-Chairman – HR Committee, AMCHAM and Director – Human Resources, Boston Scientific India gave opening comments. They spoke about the role of HR as an enabler in achieving targets, especially in more tech enable world, and the rising need of having intellectual diversity. Committee members introduced themselves and shared their take on HR in 2023. Members discussed challenges faced by HR professionals. Top challenges included – talent retention strategies, hybrid working management, employee engagement, wellness and technological advancements/automation in HR. The committee also discussed the need to acknowledge diversity from an age perspective and how to leverage that dividend. Having an ESG focus was also discussed. More than 30 members participated in the deliberations.
