Interactive Discussion on the US Credit Rating Downgrade - 12th September, 2011

The Amercian Chamber of Commerce in India organised an Interactive Discussion on the ‘US Credit Rating Downgrade – Cause & Effects’ on the 12th September 2011 in Mumbai. Mr. Tushar Poddar, Vice President, Asia Economic Research, Goldman Sachs India was the keynote speaker on the occasion. Mr. Poddar made a presentation which was followed by a question/answer session. He also spoke of issues such as the Japan Earthquake, Rising Oil Prices, US Fiscal Policy which were instrumental in the downgrade of rating. He shared information on the likely implications not only in India, but at a global level. The meeting was well attended by senior representatives from Battery Ventures, Kroll, Brickwork, Fiserv, Risk Pro, Mariott Hotels, US Consulate and others. Amcham members from across India participated in the meeting via a conference call.
