Hi:

I am excited to share that Cognizant has just hired its 100,000th associate. This symbolic milestone could not have been possible but for the hard work of each of our associates—past and present, the trust that our clients reposed in us, and the unstinted support received from each one you in our journey. On behalf of the Cognizant team—a big thank you.

Our 100,000th associate was hired in the United States into our Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) practice. To commemorate this milestone and demonstrate our commitment to a greener environment, Cognizant will plant 100,000 trees around the world to individually honor each of our 100,000 associates.

It seems like yesterday when, in 1994, a handful of professionals—25, to be precise—started our IT services business as an in-house technology development center for Dun & Bradstreet. The office was small, but the drive knew no bounds. The rest, as they say, is history.
