Meeting with Mr. Michael J. Delaney,
Assistant
United States Trade Representative for South Asia
The
American Chamber of Commerce in India organized
a meeting with Mr. Michael J. Delaney, Assistant
United States Trade Representative for South Asia,
on 5 th November 2008 at ACSA, New Delhi .
Mr.
Delaney discussed the Doha Round and wondered
whether this institutional arrangement was alright.
He wanted the members present to make concrete
suggestions on how to make this Round functionally
workable. He felt that this was the best time
to change the design, if necessary.
Members
of AMCHAM suggested that there should be a private
sector advisory group which could provide inputs
to the Doha Round of discussions.
Mr.
Virat Bhatia, President South Asia, AT&T Communication
Services, and Vice Chairman of AMCHAM, requested
Mr. Delaney to share 5-6 issues of concern with
AMCHAM which stood in the way of Doha Round.
